The Brampton Lawn Bowling Club has been enjoying a very successful indoor season of short mats bowling at Century Gardens Recreation Centre on Vodden Street in Brampton. This year's new day of Monday afternoons at 12:45 pm has proved very popular.
For the New Year, short mats bowling will resume on Monday January 15th. Plan on being in the gymnasium to register for the afternoon's bowling by 12:45pm. All adults are welcome and it is open to non members of the Club also. The Club supplies all the equipment or you can bring along your own outdoor lawn bowls. Clean, flat soled shoes are needed. Cost is $6.00 per afternoon which includes tea and cookies and prizes.
Brampton Lawn Bowling Club is pleased to announce that the Club is now a member of the Canadian Short Mat Bowls Association (CSMBA). Brampton Club members are now eligible to bowl in CSMBA events. Check out the action at www.canadianshortmat.org
Another local supporter of the CSMBA is the JJ Mat Bowling indoor bowling location in Etobicoke. This location also provides short mats bowling and you can explore their venue and events at www.jjmatbowling.com
Short mats bowling is a great sport which is gaining world wide popularity and can be played up to the international level. Enjoy.

Indoor Short Mats Season Starts Monday November 13, 2017
Come on out and join the excitement ! Short mats is a great game for fun and friendship. No experience needed as instruction is provided.
Short mats is played indoors on artificial mats which are shorter than a regular lawn bowling green. Regular outdoor lawn bowls are used with a delicate touch and the same scoring and rules are used as outdoor lawn bowling. Definitely easy to learn and enjoy. The Brampton Club provides all the equipment or bring along your own bowls.
All adults welcome. No membership required. Games are played every Monday afternoon. Drop in League, come along when you are available.

Fall Dinner and Dance a Huge Success
The Brampton Lawn Bowling Club's annual end of season dinner and dance was a huge success this past weekend. We are so sorry if you missed out on the fun ! There was a sold out crowd in attendance to enjoy a delicious turkey dinner, numerous prizes and a great evening of dancing thanks to Frank Young and his band. Special thanks to Amica of Brampton for supporting the Club as a new sponsor. We are most appreciative of all the hard work put out by the members to organize this event and of all the members who came out and supported the evening.

It is sad to say but the great 2017 season of lawn bowling is coming to an end September 29, 2017.
There is still time however to get out and bowl at all the regular times. The beautiful "summer" weather is going to continue so come over to the greens and enjoy the sunshine.

All members are welcome to attend and participate in your Club.

Fourth Place Finish at Senior Canadians
A huge congratulations to Brampton's Senior Men's Triples Team that competed as Team Ontario A at the recent Canadian National Championships. Very well played indeed with a strong round robin performance to finish in third place with 5 wins and 4 losses. The bronze medal game was a very close contest with Ontario losing 18 - 16 to Team New Brunswick. Well done and great bowling Archie Marshall, Glen Patton and Patrick May.
Saturday September 9th at 10:00 am Fun Bowling
Come out and bowl this Saturday and enjoy the lovely sunshine. A fun day of drop in mini tournament bowling will be held for all who attend. Bring your own lunch.
Mixed Finals Friday September 15th at 7:30 pm

Brampton Lawn Bowlers 2017 Provincial Champions Senior Men's Triples !!!!!
Congratulations
Brampton Lawn Bowling Club's Senior Men's Triples Team is the proud Gold Medal winner at the recent Ontario 2017 Provincial Championships.
Congratulations to team members Archie Marshall, Glen Patton and Patrick May.
This team will represent Ontario at the upcoming Canadian Championships to be held August 24 to 30th in Peterborough.
Good luck and good bowling.

Another Great Season on the Greens is Rolling Along !!!
Bowlers at the Brampton Lawn Bowling Club are enjoying another stellar season of good bowling fun on the greens and fellowship in the Clubhouse. Make sure that you are not missing out on all the good times.
The annual mixed bowling night and Strawberry Social was a huge success with the greens full of bowlers and delicious strawberries and ice cream awaiting for all after the bowling.
Canada 150 Day saw many bowlers starting off their celebrations with a fun tournament in the red and white spirit of course. Congratulations to the winners.
The first session of Points Nights has wrapped up and winners for the various nights will be posted at the Club. Well done to all. The second session is now underway so come on out and keep earning your points for the next winners list.
Watch the Club bulletin board and sign up for the next club tournament Saturday July 22nd. Lunch will be provided.
August brings a mixed drop in event on the Civic Holiday August 7th. Also the annual President's Trophy competition will be held later in August. Everyone is welcome to participate. We especially hope that all of our new members this year will come out to bowl.

Bowling cancelled June 19 - 25, 2017 for repairs to the greens
All bowling is cancelled during the week of June 19 to 25th to enable the City of Brampton to undertake necessary repairs to the bowling greens.
The Executive Committee of our Club greatly regrets this interruption to our bowling season. However the repairs are needed and the City has hired an experienced contractor to undertake the work.
Note that the President's Trophy tournament scheduled for June 17th has also been rescheduled until August 19th. This will allow for more members to be accommodated on the greens.
The annual fun Strawberry Social and mixed points drop in bowling night has been cancelled for June 19th and rescheduled for June 26th. Come on out then and enjoy some great bowling, strawberries and fellowship.
We look forward to resuming our season on Monday June 26th and seeing all members back out on our greens well rested and eager to bowl.

Club Bowling off to a Well Attended Start to the Season
Club bowling play is well underway despite some wet and cold weather. Summer is coming though !!!
Club points sessions have seen strong attendance for mixed drop in play on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings.
The Ladies are enjoying their drop in play on Tuesday evenings.
Tuesday mornings has also seen a great group of bowlers coming out for some different variations of lawn bowls. Continuing in popularity from last year are games of 4-3-2-1. This is a great game to improve individual skill in a fun atmosphere.

Great Bowling Well Underway. Have Some Fun on the Greens !!

Victoria Day weekend saw lots of good bowling both on Saturday in the Club's opening mixed event as well as on Monday for our annual mixed drop in to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Sorry if you missed the fun.

The President's Trophy on Saturday June 17th is open to all new and returning members and is always a great day of bowling and prize money.
